Namak Gift Cards — Staff

Customers pay for gift cards via Clover Online Ordering. Once you confirm the payment in Clover, activate the reservation below — that unlocks the printable voucher for them.

Confirm payment & activate

After you see the Clover Online Ordering payment for a gift card, mark the corresponding reservation as paid here. The buyer’s printable voucher unlocks immediately.

1. Read the voucher

  • Confirm the gift card code looks like NAMAK-GIFT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
  • Check the printed value on the voucher. The customer will pay that amount at the counter.
  • If the customer is only paying the activation fee, collect the voucher value as the activation amount.

2. Enter the gift card on Clover

  1. On the Clover register, open the order or register app for the customer’s meal.
  2. Tap Gift Card or MoreGift Cards on the payment screen.
  3. Select Lookup / Activate or the gift-card number field.
  4. Type the full code exactly as shown on the voucher, including all dashes. Example: NAMAK-GIFT-ABCD-1234-WXYZ
  5. If the gift card is not already active, choose Activate and enter the value printed on the voucher as the activation amount.
  6. Apply the gift card to the current order. If the order total is less than the card balance, the remaining balance stays on the card for later use.

Tip

If the customer wants to use the card for a future visit, just activate it now and do not apply it to the current order. The card will remain stored on Clover for next time.

3. If the code does not work

  • Double-check the letters: the code avoids I, 1, O and 0 to prevent confusion. Re-read the voucher carefully.
  • Try uppercase: Clover may treat uppercase and lowercase letters differently. Always type the code in uppercase.
  • Verify the status: if the register says the card is already used or invalid, keep the voucher and ask the customer to contact the buyer or call (510) 313-0697.
  • Do not guess or force a manual discount: if the code cannot be verified, offer the customer a different payment method and save the voucher for review.

4. Refunds or balance issues

  • Full refund: if the customer wants to cancel a gift card that was just activated but has not been used, refund the activation amount back to the original payment method used for activation. Then mark the voucher as void and keep it.
  • Partial balance left: reassure the customer the remaining balance stays on the Clover gift card for the next visit.
  • Lost voucher: we cannot reissue a voucher without the original code. If a customer claims they bought a card but lost it, ask them to provide the buyer email or receipt and escalate to management.
